~~Writing~~
Your assignment this week is to write a response to a prompt (p137  Ancient History Based Writing Lessons # 21 & 22).  Get with your parent to decide how many paragraphs you will write & if you will complete intro & conclusion paragraphs or statements. Choose the topics for your paragraphs - we brainstormed many in class.  Remember that you'll write your outline based on the questions to consider (p138).  Organize your outline so that your ideas flow properly.  You will use the word I, but not the word "you".  Re-read lessons 21& 22 with your parents before you begin.

The easiest way to think of a intro topic sentence is to reflect (or restate info in the prompt).

1.  Vocab quiz 4

Sample Schedule for more than 1 paragraph: (1ST GET OUT YOUR SRN)

THURSDAY
Draft paragraph 2 & 3.  KWO your intro & conclusion paragraph.

FRIDAY
Draft intro & conclusion paragraphs.

MONDAY
Begin revisions to all paragraphs.  Focus on strong verbs & "Good DEEDS - Details, Examples, Explanations, & Descriptions.

You'll make final revisions & edit all paragraphs next week making sure to eliminate to be verbs and add some style!  See your Domestic Goddess for her required stylistic techniques.  ****Try to include 1 transition word in each paragraph & between paragraphs.  Also try to add one ADVANCED dress up per paragraph.....GET CREATIVE!!!!!

You'll read your paper aloud to your parents - have you restated info from the prompt and answered the question?  Does your intro paragraph state your subject (prompt) & topics?  Does your conclusion restate your topics, give your most significant & why as well as a clincher that reflects your opening?  Do each of your topic paragraphs have a clear topic & clincher sentence & contain details to support that topic?  Lastly - have you added some flair with stylistic techniques to really make your paper interesting?

****IN WEEK 24 WE"LL BE PLAYING REVIEW GAMES SO STUDY UP ON GRAMMAR, VOCAB & IEW TERMS - BE READY TO BRING IT!!!

Parents - remember to send in your child's points totals by March 27.  Also, I need a photo & bio their paper by April 1 so we can get them sent off to be printed & bound.  Thanks! :)
