Week 17 Recap & Suggested Assignments

Today we looked at the difference between and OCN & OCA - it's an adjective instead of a noun.  We worked through the "OCN & OCA Notes" sheet handed out in class.

Continue to work on your Question Confirmations, because understanding the parts of speech and discovering their function in the sentences is ESSENTIAL! You are all doing SUCH a fantastic job-KEEP IT UP!

Today we read our final reports on Ancient Rome and started our KWO for the Faces of History Reports.

NEXT WEEK WE WILL BE REVIEWING ALL PARTS OF SPEECH so brush up on those mastery charts!

GRAMMAR CHALLENGE:  Label & diagram sentences on back of "OCN & OCA Notes" handed out in class (we did 1st one in class)- 5 points 

GRAMMAR CHALLENGE:    Memorize the 1st  4 questions on the Question Confirmation - 5 points (you don't have to be correct to get your points - you just have to try!

~~Writing~~
1.  Take Vocab Quiz 3

Our faces of history reports will be read in class on week 20.   That's 3 weeks from this week.  You're going to be following the same model as with the Ancient Rome report we just completed.  In class we started our KWO for our 1st topic.  This week you'll want to draft that paragraph and complete the KWO for your 2nd & 3rd topic. 

WEDNESDAY
Using Fused Outline form, finish KWO for all sources (2 or 3).  Fuse those 2/3 KWO into 1.

THURSDAY
Draft 1st topic paragraph.   Using Fused Outline form, KWO 2nd topic for all sources.  Fuse those 2/3 KWO into 1.

FRIDAY
Draft your 2nd topic paragraph.  If you are completing 3 topic paragraphs, KWO 3rd topic for all sources, then fuse into 1.  If you are only completing 2 topics KWO intro paragraph or statements (subject sentence & topic sentence).  You can use outline format on p 131.

MONDAY
Draft 3rd paragraph. If you are only completing 2 topic paragraphs draft your intro paragraph or statements.

**Bring in draft to class on Tuesday & your SRN.  We'll work on those in class.  Next week you'll want to concentrate on drafting your intro & conclusion paragraphs and beginning the revision process.
